Avia Pulse D Series

Portable Pulse Oxygen System (PPOS) for therapeutic use by customers with a pre-existing medical condition.

Overview of the Avia Pulse D Series

The Avia Pulse is a thereputic Oxygen Conserving System designed for passengers who have a pre-exisiting medical condition and pre-book oxygen for their flight(s). The advantage of the Avia Pulse Dose is that oxygen is only consumed during that part of the inhalation where the oxygen is of benefit and a reduced amount of oxygen is therefore needed therefore nedded with the consequent weight saving.

The D series has 5 pulse settings and a constant flow setting of 2 litres per minute. The system compromises of a lightweight DOT approved cylinder, available in 3 sizes; 2.0 litre, 2.7 litre and 3.2 litre water capacity with a working pressure of 200 bar.

The conserver gives extremely economical performance, releasing a bolus of oxygen as soon as it registers a small drop of pressure in the passenger's nose, it then closes very quickly, thus conserving oxygen. The conserver performance is best in class.

The regulator is of robust design and incorporates a number of safety features.

The 'cage' is designed to protect the regulator, conserver, pressure gauge, ease handling and present a softer image to the passengers and crew. It is manafactuered in a flame retardant material and has a Contact Memory Button (CMB) fitted at the rear, which stores data on configuration control and traceability of the assembly in accordance with ATA Spec 2000.

A purpose designed flame retardant bag, includes pockets for the operating instructions, cannula and loops for attachment. Cannula assemblies can be supplied with an inline flow indicator, allowing cabin crew to check delivery of oxygen whulst a passenger is sleeping.

Human factors have been incorporated in to the design from the outset and Avia Technique has been incorpoated a number of features following consultation with experienced airline cabin safety specialists and engineers.
